An Edwardian inlaid mahogany kneehole desk, bearing label "Thomas Dowdall, Cabinetmaker, 67 Renshaw Street, Liverpool", with gilt tooled leather writing surface, rosewood crossbanded and moulded edge above a series of frieze and pedestal drawers, the whole raised on ogee bracket feet. Height of the desk including castors is 76.5 cm, height to bottom of kneehole 60cm, depth 66.5 cm, width 121 cm (see illustration).

Nicholson of Whitehaven, the case with a swans neck pediment above an arched glazed door enclosing the 12 inch arched brass dial with penny moon and tidal dial to the arch, with eight day striking movement, date aperture and subsidiary seconds dial, flanked by fluted columns, with long arched trunk door, fluted and reeded quarter columns and conforming base supported on ogee bracket feet. Height 225 cm (see illustration).
